What is Talo
Our Founder
Talo Design Co. was created out of our founder, Karen Dorsey's passion for making life beautiful. She believes that the home is where we find our center and where our fondest memories are made. Your surroundings matter and can either inspire you or burden you. At Talo Design Co., we believe that your home has the capacity to be functional, comfortable and beautiful. Talo exists to help our clients create a space that exudes their unique personality and tells the story of those that live there!
Talo means "house" in Finnish. Talo was chosen as the company name to pay homage to Karen's Finnish grandmother who was always baking and creating a welcoming home for friends and family.
Karen Dorsey, aka Coco, is a wife and mother. She resides with her husband, son and toy poodle in Cypress, TX. Design is her passion and she feels grateful to be able to create interiors that make people happy. Other than running Talo Design Co., Karen enjoys golf with her husband, rock concerts with her son, dinner parties with friends, playing with her four step-grandkids, red wine, the beach and travel.
